After Spencer Dinwiddie opened up about his rather failed stint with the Washington Wizards, Kyle Kuzma speaks out in response to his comments about the change in role he had to do.

To recall, after leading the Luka Doncic-less Dallas Mavericks to a win against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, Dinwiddie was asked about his huge turnaround and what he thinks contributed to his forgettable time with the Wizards.

The new Mavs guard did not hold back and shared how he was asked to pass more to get the other players like Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to be more involved offensively.

“When the role changed and they wanted me to pass more–they felt like I was scoring a lot–I did that. I took my foot off the gas scoring-wise because that's what they felt. The team needed to get [Kyle Kuzma] and [Kentavious Caldwell-Pope] and those guys shots. I said, ‘Look, I already got paid. This is about y'all trying to get the shots that y'all need, whatever,'” Dinwiddie shared, via NBC Sports.

Of course the media had to ask Kyle Kuzma about the comments made by Spencer Dinwiddie. However, instead of directly responding to the claim, the 26-year-old forward said that he just wants to move on from the issue. But he did note that he has been well-documented in pushing the veteran guard to be more aggressive, which contradicts what Dinwiddie said.

“I'm sure if you go back to tidbits, I know I always said I wanted him to be aggressive, I know Brad [Beal] always said he wanted him to be aggressive. So, I'm just going to leave it at that. We're past that, honestly. We're focused on the guys that are here and we're all motivated to take that next step,” Kuzma shared.

Dinwiddie had been painted as a major problem for the Wizards, with previous reports highlighting that his attempt to be a vocal leader didn't sit well with his then teammates. It simply didn't work out for both sides and the 28-year-old scorer was eventually shipped to Dallas alongside Davis Bertans in the Kristaps Porzingis trade.

By the looks of it, the trade works for both the Wizards and Mavs. Dinwiddie is playing at a high level once again, while Porzingis just made his debut and impressed right off the bat despite his limited playing time. Kuzma might just be right: it's better to move on from the issue.
