The Washington Wizards battled neck and neck against the visiting Sacramento Kings on Monday. Both teams are pursuing the playoffs late in the regular season. Bradley Beal wanted to do something about the Wizards' dire situation.

On this night, his efforts were rewarded.

The Wizards came out victorious, 121-115, putting them 4.5 games behind the eighth-place team in the Eastern Conference. The Kings, meanwhile, lost more ground in the race for the West's final playoff spot, now 5.5 games behind the Los Angeles Clippers.

In the closing moments of Monday's game, the Kings appeared poised to steal a road victory. However,  Beal came up with huge plays at both ends of the court with less than 15 seconds left in the contest.

Not only did Beal serve up a sweet highlight reel, he also made sure that the Wizards maintained a comfortable lead and did not give the Kings a chance to tie the game at the free throw line. With the steal-and-dunk display, Washington's two-time All-Star gave his team a crucial five-point cushion. The Wizards were able to preserve it and grab the kind of win they absolutely must have in what remains of the regular season. Washington has to beat inferior teams and slightly better teams to have any chance of making a successful run at the No. 8 seed. This is one game, but the Wizards' margin for error remains small.

Bradley Beal finished the night with a game-high 27 points on 9-of-20 shooting from the field. He was one rebound and one assist shy of a triple-double. His four steals in the contest were also the most by any player on the court, with his last pick being the most pivotal moment that sealed the win for the Wiz.
