The SEC is among the conferences in college football that are going to conduct a season in 2020 and it appears their schedule release is imminent. On Sunday, the SEC announced that the conference's 2020 football schedule will be unveiled on Monday.

For the people that want the entire schedule release, the full schedule will be shown at 7 p.m EST on the SEC Network. On the other hand, Paul Finebaum will be showing the Week 1 schedule for the SEC at 3 p.m EST. The implications of the coronavirus has prompted the SEC to have an entire season of inter-conference play.

Earlier this month, the MAC conference was the first conference to cancel their college football season due to concerns surrounding COVID-19. Other conferences have followed the MAC's decision, creating a peculiar situation for student-athletes this season.

Nonetheless, the Big-12 and the SEC are notable conferences that are going to proceed to have a football season in 2020. Despite the league's decision, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey realizes the risks involved.

“Best advice I’ve received since COVID-19: ‘Be patient. Take time when making decisions. This is all new and you’ll gain better information each day,’” SEC commissioner Greg Sankey shared via Twitter last week. “SEC has been deliberate at each step since March…slowed return to practice…delayed 1st game to respect start of fall semester…(developed) testing protocols…We know concerns remain. We have never had a (football) season in a COVID-19 environment. Can we play? I don’t know. We haven’t stopped trying. We support, educate and care for student-athletes every day, and will continue to do so…every day.”

Of course, everyone has been waiting to see who teams like Alabama and LSU are going to face this season. While some teams know who they'll play against, they'll know the exact date on Monday. Barring any unforeseen events, the SEC football season is scheduled to kick off on September 26.
