College sports is truly the land where the people in charge of winning the most take the least amount of responsibility. Oh, hello there, recently fired Oregon State coach Gary Andersen.

Gary Andersen, who had an objectively woeful tenure with Oregon State, has been busted hurling his former assistants under the bus via text message.

In a series of texts he sent to The Oregonian columnist John Canzano, Andersen mentioned how his assistants were awful.

Here is the wonderful bean footage:

Andersen (Sept. 20): “I hired the wrong (expletive) guys and are still working our way through a bunch of recruiting years that stunk!! It’s year three! If these (expletives) can’t get it right I will not just say fire them and start over!! That’s not the way to go about it. If I (expletive) it up that bad I will take the bullet and ride off into the sunset! I will stay old school!! I will not die doing this (expletive)!! Stay tuned!”

Andersen (Sept. 30): “That’s my best shot!! I will give it that again next week!! That offense is embarrassing!! On me I hired the (expletives)!”

That, honestly, reads like a crazy person. I mean, that is if we are being honest about the entire thing.

Oregon State currently sits with a woeful 1-5 record at the moment. The lone win by the Beavers this season was against the Portland State Vikings, which isn’t exactly something to call home about.

Now this his career with Oregon State is finished, Gary Andersen finishes it by winning only seven of the 30 games he coached for the program. He now has an overall coaching record of 52-54.
