Nebraska Cornhuskers AD Trev Alberts announced Monday that Scott Frost has agreed to a restructured contract and will continue to be the head coach for the football team in 2022.

This comes in the midst of yet another disappointing season for Nebraska. The Cornhuskers are just 3-7 this season overall and 1-6 in the Big Ten after a tough 26-17 loss to the No. 5 Ohio State Buckeyes this past weekend.

Frost has been a massive disappointment in Lincoln, failing to record a single winning record since coming over from UCF after an undefeated season in 2017. He's 15-27 overall and 10-23 in the Big Ten as the Nebraska head coach.

Frost played a portion of his college football career at Nebraska, where he was extremely successful and shared 1997 national championship honors. After a short time in the NFL, he returned to Nebraska and got his coaching career started as a graduate assistant.

Frost's close ties to the Cornhuskers could very well be playing a role in him getting another chance. While Albert says he has seen progress this season, the record is the record and this could wind up being Frost's worst season in terms of record at Nebraska.
