Jon Gruden remains a name that is linked to nearly every coaching vacancy on the planet. In this Internet Scribbler's opinion, if he were not on Monday Night Football each week, these sorts of hyperbolic claims surrounding the coach would never even happen.
Fame is often greater than fit or talent. Jon Gruden hasn't coached a game in a decade, but it hasn't stopped dopes from pretending like he will go to “their” favorite college football program to save it.
Paul Finebaum, a man with a radio show and loyal listeners, isn't doing anyone any favors as of late. On a recent edition of his show, Paul Finebaum claimed to have some inside information in regards to Jon Gruden taking the Tennessee job.
Mind you, the Tennessee job is not yet open.
Here is Paul Finebaum and those wacky things he does here and there. What is it called? Oh yeah, creating noises with his mouth and claiming them to be words.
If I hadn’t been to Knoxville last week, I would have laughed at you,” Finebaum told a caller on his show. “But I talked to someone, let me put it you that way, someone that I have a lot of trust in and that is connected deeply in that program and he told me the same thing. He said, ‘If we lose this (Georgia) game, and something happens to Butch Jones, our first choice will be Jon Gruden.
Maybe the first choice would be Gruden. Also worth noting, my first choice for marriage was Christina Ricci. We don't always get what we want. Feel me?
