The latest AP Poll is back with more vengeance than Bruce Willis in a Die Hard movie. Unlike Bruce making far too many sequels for the franchise to put out quality work, South Florida is one of a few teams climbing up the rankings.
Let's get the semantics out of the way first. No. I am not talking about the awesome looking Death Wish remake starring the aforementioned Willis. We are talking about taking a gander at the AP Poll.
- Alabama — 1,515 total points (52 first-place votes)
- Clemson — 1,458 (2)
- Oklahoma — 1,397 (1)
- Penn State — 1,304
- USC — 1,247
- Washington — 1,188
- Georgia — 1,136
- Michigan — 1,088
- TCU — 1,028
- Wisconsin — 1,023
- Ohio State — 1,016
- Virginia Tech — 828
- Auburn — 701
- Miami — 693
- Oklahoma State — 665
- Washington State — 551
- Louisville — 502
- South Florida — 406
- San Diego State — 365
- Utah — 356
- Florida — 342
- Notre Dame — 246

Some notable things outside of South Florida did happen.
Article Continues BelowGeorgia moved up four spots after beating Mississippi State. TCU, on the other hand, jumped seven, but the Bulldogs remained ahead of the Frogs by two spots, No. 7 to No. 9.
Washington trudged forward one spot. Washington State and Louisville moved forward two. Then there are San Diego State and Utah, both which leaped three spots forward.
Notre Dame and West Virginia returned to this week’s poll at Nos. 22 and 23, replacing upset losers Florida State and Oregon.
As it always is whenever we post one of these fancy AP Polls, it is worth noting that we are not yet in October. There is still plenty of football left to be played. What the poll looks like today will unlikely look that similar come a month from now.
