It was a homecoming of sorts for Blake Griffin on Friday as the Detroit Pistons, his former team, hosted the Brooklyn Nets inside Little Caesars Arena in Midtown Detroit. Unfortunately, it wasn't exactly the reunion Griffin was hoping for early on.

Pistons rookie Isaiah Stewart got ejected early in the second period after throwing an elbow right at Griffin's grill.

There is clearly no love lost between these two. We're not entirely sure about this, but it looks like Griffin and Stewart did not have the best of relationships during their time together as teammates. Then again, this could just be their competitive juices flowing.

Stewart, the 16th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, has been playing quite well for the Pistons of late. He came into the Nets game with five consecutive double-digit scoring games, but needless to say, his streak ended on Thursday after being sent to the locker room after just five minutes of action.

As for Griffin, the former All-Star hasn't exactly found his form with his new team just yet. He also took the night off on Wednesday due to injury management which points to the fact that he's probably still not at a hundred percent right now.

Without Stewart, Mason Plumlee will carry more of the frontline burden. The former Duke Blue Devil has been somewhat of a revelation for the Pistons this season. And rightfully so, because he's being paid good money by the Motor City franchise.
