Brooklyn Nets superstar small forward Kevin Durant loves going on social media to interact with fans.

Many have wondered why one of the best basketball players on the planet enjoys talking smack on social media so much.

Durant, who will miss the entire season for the Nets while rehabbing his Achilles tear, talked to Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson on the All The Smoke Podcast about it:

“I like Twitter, Durant said. “I mean… if I see something on there that I want to respond to, I’m just going to do it. It’s not like a predetermined thing. I just kind of see it, scroll on it.

“I like the platform and any chance I get to give somebody a piece of my brain, I want to do it. Especially a former teammate who’s talking sh**, or a fan. Just giving my perspective on how I feel about things because I feel like a lot of players, deep down, they feel how I feel, but I just say it.”

The Nets star went on to say he still has a few burner Twitter accounts he uses. It just goes to show some of the most successful people in the world can have fragile egos at times.

Durant, Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan each signed four-year deals with the Nets. The three All-Stars are very close friends.

Durant and Irving took less money from the Nets so Jordan could get a $40 million contract from Brooklyn.
