Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets suffered a tough loss on Sunday as they faced another top Eastern Conference contender in Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. It was an end-to-end battle with the Bucks escaping the Nets, 117-114.

It was a crucial loss for Durant and company, with teams jockeying for homecourt advantage for the NBA Playoffs. But for the former MVP, they can't be too caught up in defeats, offering an almost philosophical take on their situation (via NY Daily News).

“Every day you wake up, it should be about your craft. I think that’s how everybody approaches this thing. We try to take it a day at a time, a possession at a time. We can’t control what’s going to happen at the end of the season or what other teams are going to do. I think we’ve just got to take advantage of each one and that’s what we’re doing.”

Durant was in his bag against the Bucks though. He dropped 42 points and 10 rebounds in a memorable head-to-head with Giannis, who finished with 49 points and eight boards. KD's efforts, however, weren't enough as the Nets were still without another former MVP in James Harden, who continues to nurse his hamstring issue. But again, Durant said they have to focus on the present.

“Yeah we definitely miss James and we want our whole team out there. But, you know we chalk this one, get better tomorrow and worry about the next game. And we play these guys again, which is the good part, so we can see how we are next game and gauge how we are against this team again.”

Kevin Durant and the Nets get to run it back as they're set to face the Bucks again on Tuesday.
