Seth Curry has been in and out of the lineup for the Brooklyn Nets since joining the team as part of the Ben Simmons-James Harden trade. The 31-year-old started on Tuesday and he helped the Nets to a 130-123 win over the Detroit Pistons.

After the game, Nets head coach Steve Nash opened up about Curry's current injury. The 6-foot-2 combo guard is dealing with an ankle sprain which has cost him a handful of games, including last Wednesday against the Memphis Grizzlies. According to coach Nash, Curry has no other choice but to play through the injury right now:

“You know I have no idea what the next step is,” Nash said, via Dave Early of Clutch Points. “I'm under the assumption that it's more rest than anything. But yeah, he's gonna have to manage this thing probably the rest of the way. He's still played relatively like himself. I think he's had some really great nights for us and he carried this thing for pretty while, so he's a tough cahacter and wants to play. So I think he'll be okay. There's pockets where we can preserve him and imit his minutes, we'll try.”

The Nets are still battling for positioning in the East with just six regular-season games scheduled on their slate. Following Tuesday's win, the Nets are still seventh. They are just one game ahead of the Charlotte Hornets in the loss column, and at the moment, everything is still up for grabs. Curry is no star but there's also no denying that he's an important part of Nash's rotation.

According to coach Nash, such are just the breaks of the game. They would love to get everyone at a hundred percent, but at this point in the season, this is just the harsh reality they have to live with right now:

“This is the nature of the NBA,” Nash said. “We have to play through a lot of things. If you're not playing through something, that's almost more unique than to carry an injury with you this time of year.”

Kevin Durant Will probably be concerned with Nash's update on his teammate here. Earlier in the evening, KD mentioned that the Nets are in desperate need to get healthy. Curry, unfortunately, is clearly far from a hundred percent.

“To be honest we just want to be healthy,” Durant said. “I think we all understand what playoof basketball is about and we'll be able to lock in on the team, you know, once we get two or three days of practice. But most part we just want to stay healthy.”

Apart from Curry, the guy Brooklyn needs back right now is Ben Simmons. The former Sixers star has yet to make his debut for the Nets following his mid-season move to Brooklyn. Simmons is still dealing with some considerable pain in his back and at the moment, there is no firm timetable for his return. The best-case scenario for the Nets is for Simmons to return in the coming week or so. This will give him a handful of games with his new team before the Play-In tournament kicks in.

With Simmons in the mix, the Nets are going to be an even more dangerous squad for any opposing team. Unfortunately, there's just no guarantee that he'll be back at this point.
