Kyrie Irving contacted Spencer Dinwiddie about playing in New York back in December, according to Dinwiddie himself. The Brooklyn Nets guard didn't know if Irving was leaning toward the Nets or the Knicks, but knew Uncle Drew had his eyes on New York.

Irving, of course, signed with the Nets. Dinwiddie actively recruited Irving to Brooklyn. The Nets were also able to land Kevin Durant and DeAndre Jordan, two of Irving's close friends.

Kyrie Irving grew up in New Jersey and was a Nets fan as a kid. Brooklyn's foundation is stronger than the Knicks', which made Irving and Durant's decision to join the Nets over the Knicks pretty easy.

Irving signed a four-year, $136.5 million contract with Brooklyn. He and Durant took less than the max so the franchise could sign Jordan to his four-year, $40 million deal.

Brooklyn won't be title contenders in 2019-20 since KD is expected to miss the entire season recovering from his Achilles tear.

However, you can expect the Nets to be a top-four team in the East with Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan, Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, Joe Harris and Jarrett Allen leading the charge.

Brooklyn fans are going to love Irving, while fans of the Boston Celtics are going to boo the All-Star guard so badly when Kyrie comes back to Boston.
