The Brooklyn Nets are on the brink of an absolute dumpster fire. Kevin Durant requested for a trade on Thursday and that essentially means Kyrie Irving is most likely a goner, too.

While there is a ton of interest in Durant, only one team is seriously in the running for Kyrie: the Los Angeles Lakers. The rumors have already been swirling that Russell Westbrook could head to the Nets in a possible blockbuster for Irving, reuniting the guard with LeBron James in LA.

Well,  if Kyrie's latest tweet is any indication, he wants out ASAP:

Is he saying the Nets are holding him captive? What does this all mean? Brooklyn surely has had enough of the Irving drama, even though he just opted into his $37 million player option. Nevertheless, it feels like a foregone conclusion he'll be history. There is no chance he stays without KD alongside him.

If Kyrie is indicating the Nets aren't letting him free, it's honestly his own fault. Irving didn't have to opt-in. He did it because he thought Durant was sticking around. Well, that has changed in a hot minute.

It's already clear the biggest storyline of this NBA offseason will be the futures of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. It's a shame they couldn't work things out with the Nets but now it appears the franchise is just going to try and get as many assets as possible and start to retool rather than fully rebuild.
