The Brooklyn Nets are undoubtedly happy to have Kyrie Irving back in the mix for road games, but on Thursday, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the organization is actually very optimistic he could return to the team on a full-time basis.

However, the only way this could happen is if Nets owner Joe Tsai and the rest of the front office agreed to pay nightly fines for Kyrie to suit up at home, given his vaccination status. But, the NBA reportedly set rules that every single team must comply with local laws, which means this whole scenario feels like an unrealistic possibility now.

Via Woj:

Kyrie still has no plans of getting vaccinated, which evidently prevents him from playing at the Barclays Center because of the mandates in New York City. The whole idea of potentially paying fines for him to be available in front of the Nets faithful looks like it's out the window, which is definitely concerning for Irving and Brooklyn come playoff time. Having Irving pop in and out of a seven-game series would be extremely odd, but it may be the best the Nets are going to get.

Nevertheless, Steve Nash's squad will be focused on the now. They're coming off a massive victory over the East-leading Chicago Bulls and now sit just 1.5 games behind them for top spot in the conference.

This whole Kyrie situation is something to definitely monitor as the season rolls on.
