Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie says the franchise deserves credit for signing Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan in free agency without tearing up the roster.

The Nets lost All-Star point guard D'Angelo Russell from last year's team, but that's it. Brooklyn was able to retain Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, Joe Harris, Rodions Kurucs and Dinwiddie.

Along with signing Irving, Durant and Jordan, the Nets also added veteran small forwards Garrett Temple and Wilson Chandler.

“One of the craziest things about this ‘rebuild’ is that we got two stars and a third semi-star and we didn’t have to mortgage everything to do it,” Dinwiddie told Alex Kennedy of Hoops Hype. “We still have Rodi [Kurucs], we still have Jarrett, we still have Caris all on rookie deals. Joe and myself are only 26 years old. We’re not very old.”

The Nets made the playoffs last season. Now, with Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan in the fold, Brooklyn has its eyes on taking that next step in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Nets won't be title contenders until Kevin Durant returns from his Achilles injury. The two-time Finals MVP is widely expected to miss the entire 2019-20 season.

However, Brooklyn is going to be a fun team to watch next season. Spencer Dinwiddie, Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, Joe Harris, Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan, Wilson Chandler and Garrett Temple are all eager to show the world they are still an elite team in the NBA sans KD.
