Kyrie Irving is set to miss the Brooklyn Nets' home games in 2021-22 due to New York's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. With that said, fans and experts alike think Steve Nash and Co. should reduce the role of Irving even in road games so as to build continuity and better chemistry among the rest of the readily available players.

Nash admitted that he “couldn't imagine” resorting to such measure, but he isn't closing the door on the possibility given the uncertainty surrounding his superstar point guard, per Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News.

Last Sunday, Steve Nash opened up about Kyrie Irving and how his vaccination status will impact the team. The Nets head coach didn't hide anything, noting that they will be preparing to play without the champion guard whenever they host other NBA teams at Barclays Center.

“I think we recognize he’s not playing home games,” Nash admitted. “We’re going to have to for sure play without him this year. So it just depends on when, where and how much.”

The Nets have 41 home games scheduled in 2021-22, and Irving is slated to sit out all those contests since New York's COVID-19 vaccine rules requires players to have at least one shot to be able to practice and play in the city.

While the Nets initially had hopes that Kyrie will change his stance, it doesn't seem the playmaker will have a change of heart any time soon (or at all). Hopefully, though, Nash and Brooklyn finds a better resolution that will benefit the team and their championship aspirations.
