Kyrie Irving standing firm on his opinion towards the COVID-19 vaccine mandate is bound to hurt the Brooklyn Nets at some point. With R&B star Chris Brown offering his support for the enigmatic point guard, the attention it'll drive in favor of Irving's beliefs could lead to more distractions for the Nets.

In a recent Instagram story featuring an image of Irving, Brown strongly expressed his approval of the Nets star's choice.

“THE REAL HERO!!! I stand with my brother. WHOEVER DONT LIKE IT… Go live your damn life.. ITS HIS CHOICE AND A DAMN GOOD ONE. ALWAYS IN MY BROTHERS CORNER.”

The Nets decided to keep Kyrie Irving out of games and practices, regardless of location, until the latter decides to get vaccinated or New York City eases its immunization requirements.

While Kevin Durant and James Harden—two MVP-caliber superstars in their prime—are more than enough to keep the ship afloat, the void left by Irving will be more noticeable as the season progresses.

Brooklyn's three-headed monster was supposed to allow Steve Nash to manage the load of his triumvirate. The Nets are bound for a deep postseason run, so having the luxury of Durant, Harden, and Irving on the roster is critical.

The Nets lost their season opener to a potential playoff foe in the Bucks, who played a chunk of the game without Jrue Holiday. This should already be enough for Irving to reassess his decision if he's serious about helping his team achieve its goal.
