The New York Jets are set to take on the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Multiple divisional matchups are taking place in Week 15, with many underdogs capable of changing the post season picture for their division rivals. This includes the Jets vs Dolphins AFC East game. Although the Jets are mathematically unable to make it to the playoffs this season, they can still shake up the race. With that, let’s dive in to my boldest predictions for the AFC East matchup.

Jets Week 15 Predictions
4. Zach Wilson rushing TD
It’s no secret that the Jets have had a lackluster season — again. It has been tough for New York to put points on the board. Rookie quarterback Zach Wilson has taken matters into his own hands recently, showing potential for Sunday.
In their Week 13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Wilson had a decent game. He threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns. But his air game isn’t what I am focused on for this week. Also in that game, Wilson had the only rushing touchdown for the Jets, his second of the season. The rookie doesn’t run much and has only recorded 58 rushing yards in nine games, but this week will be different. Expect Wilson to run the ball more, and expect him to record his third rushing touchdown of the season.
3. Close game
The Jets are dead last in the NFC East with a brutal record of 3-10. On the other hand, the Dolphins are 6-7, still very much in the playoff picture, and on a five game winning streak. This should be a blowout win for the Dolphins, right?
I don’t think so. The AFC East matchup will definitely be closer than most people are expecting it to be. The Dolphins are missing a crucial part of their offense. Star running back Jaylen Waddle was put on the COVID-19 list on Thursday after testing positive for the virus. The rookie has been the top receiver for Miami this season. Waddle has 86 receptions for 849 yards and four touchdowns in his first year in the NFL.
The Jets are also without their top receiver, Elijah Moore. However, they have spent practice and game time working around this huge offensive hole. Expect wide receiver Jamison Crowder to come up big for the Jets on Sunday afternoon.
2. Reps from Joe Flacco
While Wilson is more than capable of performing on Sunday, expect to see some game time for backup quarterback Joe Flacco. Similar to the New York Giants, the Jets really have nothing to lose in Week 15. Why not give Flacco some playing time and experiment with his abilities?
Flacco has played twice during the regular season, starting once. In his only full game of the season, Flacco threw for 291 yards and two touchdowns in their Week 11 loss to the Dolphins. He might want some redemption after narrowly losing to Miami four weeks ago.
1. Jets upset win
This game will be a lot closer than most people expect, and there’s no doubt that it will come down to a one score difference. Expect the Jets to show up flying high in Miami with something to prove and nothing to lose.
Finally, my boldest prediction yet: Jets win 17-10.
