The NFC East was down during the 2019 season with every team struggling at one point during the season. The Eagles won the division with a 9-7 record, but it still was a disappointing season. Next season, the division should be improved and more competitive as a result.

The Cwboys have Dak Prescott still and the expectations are for them to be near the top of the NFC. Daniel Jones and Dwayne Haskins are young, but they have shown flashes of being good long term-options for the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins.

This offseason is key for everyone, so let's breakdown one bold prediction for each team.

4. Eagles trade for Nick Foles

Carson Wentz is a good NFL quarterback, but there is still one big issue, he still hasn't completed a playoff game. Regular-season success is important, but in the NFL, it's a necessity for a high-level quarterback to wins games during the playoffs.

It's clear at this point the Eagles need to bring in another quarterback for when Wentz goes down with an injury late in the season. Nick Foles has already proven he can win games in the playoffs for the Eagles. Gardner Minshew is the future of the Jacksonville Jaguars so it would make sense to ship him off to the Eagles.

3. Cowboys frustrate Dak Prescott by franchise tagging him

All signs are pointing towards Dak Prescott and the Cowboys not reaching a contract agreement. That means the Cowboys will probably place the franchise tag to keep him for at least one more season giving themselves a chance to negotiate a long-term deal next offseason.

Prescott has made it clear he wants a long term-deal, and being franchise-tagged isn't going to sit well with him. It wouldn't be shocking if he sat out of OTAs and maybe even the first couple of weeks of training camp just to prove his frustrations with the team.

2. Giants trade down in the draft

The New York Giants are in the middle of a rebuild, so having extra draft picks is never a bad thing. Many around the league believe the Miami Dolphins are going to want to select Tua Tagovailoa with the fifth overall pick. The Giants currently own the fourth overall pick, so if other teams want to select him, trading up with New York makes a lot of sense.

Look for the Giants to get an extra first round pick by trading down in the draft. With their first-round selection this year, don't be shocked if the Giants select a wide receiver.

1. Adrian Peterson starts season as Redskins' starting RB

It seemed a few years ago Adrian Peterson's time in the NFL was done, but he has revived his career with the Redskins. During the 2019 season, he rushed 211 times for 898 yards and five touchdowns.

The team would probably be smart to bring in another free agent running back that can put up the same production, but it's not going to happen. It might end up being a mistake, but Peterson will be the starting running back to start next season.
