The 2022 NFL Draft is underway and there have been numerous surprises throughout. Not only are the quarterbacks falling down the boards, but so is Georgia Bulldogs' standout linebacker, Nakobe Dean. He was originally thought to be selected in the top two rounds, but he fell into round 3, with the Philadelphia Eagles eventually selecting him 83rd overall.

According to Austin Gayle, Nakobe Dean declined to have surgery on his shoulder. For that reason, his shoulder has become a “major concern/medical red flag.”

For insight on the biggest winners and losers from the 1st round of the 2022 NFL Draft, listen below:

It's a questionable decision to not receive surgery, especially now that Dean completely fell in the NFL Draft.

Injuries were a concern for Nakobe Dean as is. It's the reason why many believed he'd be taken late in the first or early in the second round. However, avoiding the shoulder surgery sent Dean's NFL Draft stock plummeting. It's a brutal development, but the Georgia stand-out now gets a fresh start with the Eagles.

It was only a matter of time until a team took a swing on him. He's an extremely talented linebacker who is a tackle machine. He proved to be a major contributor for Georgia throughout his collegiate career. However, teams across the league feel in his injury woes are too much to work with. Additionally, Dean is undersized, which may have played a part in this development as well.

Hopefully,Philadelphia can develop the young prospect while he's mending his injuries.
