The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs went head-to-head in the Super Bowl back in February in a game that saw Tom Brady and company get the best of Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. It should come as no surprise, that when William Hill released their win total projections for the 2021 season, that both teams are right back at the top.

The Chiefs lead the way, with William Hill setting their over/under win total at 12 games. The Buccaneers are right behind them with their total resting at 11.5 wins.

Kansas City has won at least 12 games in three straight years and in four out of the last five seasons total. Last year the Chiefs went 14-2 and that included a week 17 game where they rested starters including Patrick Mahomes.

One thing to keep in mind with the totals this year that is drastically different is the added 17th game. The regular season will be stretched out by one game starting right away in 2021. So for those betting the over on some of these totals, you have the extra game in your back pocket. Now, of course William Hill and the other books take that into account but it is worth remembering.

On the low end of the spectrum are the Detroit Lions and the Houston Texans. Both have their win totals set at 5, which is interesting for the Texans considering Deshaun Watson is still on the roster despite wanting a trade and the off-the-field issues.

For the Chiefs and the Buccaneers, it will be business as usual to start 2021. Both teams have a great chance to not only compete but win their respective conferences once again. Could we see another Brady – Mahomes matchup in the Super Bowl this year? Time will tell but for now, start pondering your win total bets for the 2021 season.
