Josh Sitton is hanging them up. The former Packers, Bears, and Dolphins guard is retiring from the NFL, he announced during an appearance on ESPN Radio.

Sitton didn't just break the news of his retirement, he also broke the news of the birth of his newborn son. Sitton is still only 32, but appears to be calling it quits to spend more time with family.

Sitton was drafted by Green Bay in the fourth round out of UCF back in 2008. Sitton became one of the league's better guards during his time with the Packers, and won Super Bowl XLV with the team. He then signed a big contract with the Bears, and spent the next two years in Chicago. All told, he made the Pro Bowl in four out of five years from 2012 to 2016.

But injuries soon began to pile up. He missed three games in 2016 and 2017 with the Bears, and then became a free agent. He signed a two-year contract with Miami last offseason, but appeared in just one game before his 2018 season was ended by a torn rotator cuff.

The Dolphins released him a few weeks back, and he apparently wasn't interested in finding a new home. Assuming he doesn't make a comeback, he'll finish with 148 career appearances and 138 starts, a remarkable achievement for a fourth round pick.
