Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce is enjoying his NFL retirement. Kelce and his wife Kylie took a trip to the Jersey Shore in late May and reportedly had a good time. However, the couple got into a sticky situation with a fan while they were on vacation in Margate City.

Kylie Kelce was seen having a disagreement with a fan, who appeared to want a picture with the couple. When the fan did not get what she wanted, she claimed that the Kelces would not be welcomed back to Margate City.

The town's mayor, Michael Collins, took notice of the way the fan treated Jason and Kylie Kelce and extended an apology to the couple.

“On behalf of the City of Margate, I'd like to formally apologize to Jason & Kylie Kelce for the experience they had in Margate City over the holiday weekend. As a father with young children, I know as well as anyone the importance of a date night with your wife and would like to offer a redo date night with dinner on me,” Collins wrote, per TMZ.

It remains to be seen if the couple will take the mayor up on his offer. Jason Kelce seemed to have a good time at the Jersey Shore despite the fan incident. He discussed how much he enjoyed restaurants he and his wife visited on an episode of his New Heights podcast. Specifically, he raved about one venue's chocolate chip pancakes.

The Kelces likely did not take the fan altercation personally. They want to continue to enjoy their time together amid Jason's retirement. The longtime center had an incredible 13-year run with the Eagles.

Jason Kelce leaves the Eagles in a good time

After the Philadelphia Eagles were eliminated from the 2024 NFL Playoffs, Kelce officially dropped his highly anticipated retirement announcement. He spent 13 seasons with the Eagles, amassing seven Pro Bowl selections, six All-Pro honors, and one Super Bowl. Kelce was emotional during his announcement press conference, fondly reflecting on his career.

“It took a lot of hard work and determination getting here,” an emotional Kelce said, per NBC Sports Philadelphia. “I have been the underdog my entire career, and I mean this when I say it, I wish I still was. Few things gave me more joy than proving someone wrong.”

Furthermore, Kylie Kelce gave a heartfelt statement amid her husband's decision.

“The outpouring of love and support is…expected, because I know who my husband is and the way he has conducted himself and how that has touched the lives of people, but at the same time it's still shocking,” Kylie Kelce said, according to a tweet from NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Jason Kelce's days in Philly may be over, but he leaves the franchise in good hands. Star quarterback Jalen Hurts will continue to spearhead the team's offense as they look to reach the Super Bowl again. With Hurts and the rest of the Eagles' stout contributors, there is no doubt Philadelphia will see short and long-term success.
