The Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams put together one of the best games of the 2018 NFL season. Not only was it one of the best games of this season, it was one of the most entertaining games of all-time. Unfortunately for Kansas City, the Chiefs were unable to pull off a win and fell to the Rams by a final score of 54-51.

According to a report from ESPN Stats & Info on Twitter, the Chiefs joined the 1966 New York Giants as one of the only two teams in NFL history to lose two games in a single season that they scored at least 40 points in.

Patrick Mahomes has taken the Chiefs to heights that no one saw coming from them this season. They are a legitimate Super Bowl 53 contender and are still the best team in the AFC even after the loss to the Rams.

He has worked his way into being an MVP candidate in his first year as an NFL starter.

In tonight's game against the Rams, Mahomes played extremely well until the last couple of drives. He threw two interceptions late in the game, but was masterful for the most part.

Mahomes completed 33 of his 46 pass attempts for 478 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions. Jared Goff also put on a show with 413 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions.

As Clutch Points has already noted, Mahomes broke the Monday Night Football all-time record for most passing touchdowns in a single game.

All of that being said, the Chiefs have to be disappointed to lose this game the way that they did. Scoring that many points and losing twice in a season could foretell a potential issue come playoff time.
