The XFL is still a year away from officially kicking off, but now it’s gained another head coach and general manager for one of its newest teams.
Earlier today, Pep Hamilton was introduced as both the head coach and general manager of the XFL’s unnamed Washington Franchise. With the hire, he’ll join Bob Stoops – Dallas’ coach and GM – as the only two coaches the XFL has hired so far.
For the XFL, the hiring of Hamilton is likely a good one, as the coach has had NFL roots dating back to 2003. He’s spent time on the Jets, 49ers, Bears, Colts, and Browns as both a quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator, but this will be his first actual head coaching job.

We plan to put together a terrific, hard-working staff, and a great football team for fans in and around our nation’s capital.”
While the league still has a ton of things to announce, it did announce the eight host cities and stadiums for their first franchises late last year, and the goal is still to begin play in 2020, so expect more information to be delivered as the year goes on.
