Why the Titans Could Win
The Titans are 5-2 yet somehow underdogs to a team that has lost more games than they've won. The Titans two losses came in outlier games. They lost to the Jets in overtime, which shocked everybody. Their other loss came in Week 1 against the Cardinals when Derrick Henry was incapable of running the ball. Minus those two games this team has looked good. They have 5 wins and will look to continue to make their playoff push in Week 8.
Article Continues BelowThe most crucial aspect of the Titans offense is the run game. That run game is impacted by one player, Derrick Henry. Henry is a beast. He has nearly 900 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns through 7 games. Those numbers are phenomenal. He had an underwhelming Week 7 and will look to bounce back against a Colts defense that has allowed over 110 rushing yards per game to opposing backs. The offense flows through Henry and if he is able to run the ball early everything else will fall into place for Tennessee.
The other offensive leader for the Titans is Ryan Tannehill. While Tannehill might nit be the most flashy quarterback, he is consistently able to put his team in position to win games. The ninth year quarterback has been having a productive season. He has thrown for nearly 1800 yards. The touchdown numbers aren't spectacular because of how run dominant the Titans are, but he puts the team in position to score. If Henry can open things up for the quarterback then Tannehill should be able to take care of business.
Why the Colts Could Win
The Colts are one of the most underrated teams in the NFL. Of all the teams, their record reflects their performance the least. Indianapolis has had a tough schedule and two of their losses came against the league's best teams. They lost to the Rams by a field goal and they lost to the Ravens in over time. They have played Tennessee once this season already and that didn't go great. However, they will be looking to bounce back and even out the series at home.
The Colts added Carson Wentz to the roster in the offseason and that has proven to be a great move. Wentz is having a bounce back season. He has quietly become one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the league. He has thrown for nearly 1700 yards, 11 touchdowns, and only 1 interception. Wentz sets up the Colts to win games and is a tough competitor through four quarters. If he can continue to play the efficient and productive game he has played all season then the Colts could walk away with this one.
Indianapolis will look to take advantage of a poor Titans defense. Tennessee ranks 22nd overall in the league in total yards allowed. They allow over 370 yards of offense to opposing teams. If the Colts can expose this weak defense then they should win this game. Indianapolis will lean on Jonathan Taylor to establish the run game early. Taylor is coming off a great game against the Niners and will be looking to carry that momentum into Week 8. If the Colts defense can manage to keep the game close, then Indianapolis' offense should have no problem getting the job done at home.
Final Titans-Colts Prediction & Pick
The line for this game is close. The bookmakers have it coming down to a field goal essentially. Whenever these two teams play it is a competitive game. There is a lot on the line, so expect both teams to really show out. While Tennessee may have won their last match, look for the Colts to bounce back. Indianapolis finally has some momentum and will be coming into this game very prepared. If the Colts defense can manage then their offense should be able to outplay Tennessee. Pick the Colts to win and cover.
FINAL TITANS-COLTS PREDICTION & PICK: Indianapolis Colts -2.5 (-115)
