The Washington Football Team will take on the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC East rivalry game. It's time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Washington-Cowboys prediction and pick.

Heading into Week 15, Washington had a chance to score a win and begin their push for a wild card spot. A devastating loss to the Philadelphia Eagles dropped the Football Team to a 6-8 record, making this game against the Cowboys a must-win affair. Head coach Ron Rivera's squad is certainly still in the playoff hunt, but they don't have any more room for error. Meanwhile, Dallas has already secured the division. The Cowboys are currently the second seed in the NFC, and if they continue their winning ways there's a good chance they could earn the first seed and the crucial bye week that comes with it. There's plenty riding on this game for both teams, so this should be an interesting one.

Why Washington Could Cover The Spread

This Washington was forced to function without their top three quarterbacks in Week 15, but that won't be the case here. Taylor Heinicke should be back in action for this matchup with a porous Dallas defense. The Cowboys have been shredded by opposing passing games, as they allow 250 passing yards per game and 6.9 yards per pass attempt. Both numbers are among the worst in the league. Heinicke has put together great performances against much better defenses, like his 200 yard, three touchdown performance against the Carolina Panthers. This isn't a bad matchup for this Washington offense.

While the Football Team hasn't been the best at covering the spread, this huge ten point spread seems a little big. Washington has faced a similar spread twice this season, and once was last week when they played their fourth-string quarterback. They still managed to score a push, and they won the other game they entered as 10-point underdogs. The last time these teams faced off Washington only lost by a touchdown, so there's reason to believe they can cover this massive spread.

Why The Cowboys Could Cover The Spread

Dallas has been one of the best offensive football teams in the league this season, and they won't slow down here. Washington has been an even worse  pass defense than the Cowboys so far. The Football Team defense allows an average of 259 passing yards per game as well as giving up a 67% completion percentage to opposing passers. Quarterback Dak Prescott won't have any trouble picking this defense apart throughout this contest.

To make matters even worse for the Washington defense, they'll be missing several starters in this game. Starting safety Landon Collins and starting cornerback William Jackson are both unlikely to suit up here due to injury. Kamren Curl, the other starting safety, is still on the COVID list with the other starting cornerback, Kendall Fuller. With a handful of key players already on injured reserve, this defense should be about as tough as a wet piece of paper.

Final Washington-Cowboys Prediction & Pick

This is a fairly easy pick. The Cowboys have won three straight and now they play the vastly overmatched Football Team. Take Dallas to win and cover in a blowout here.

Final Washington-Cowboys Pick: Dallas Cowboys: -10 (-106)
