Week 7 of the NFL is upon us! The Washington Football Team head north to take on the Green Bay Packers in an NFC showdown. It’s time to continue our NFL odds series and make a Washington Football Team-Packers prediction and pick.
Washington is not where they expected to be at this point in the season. Entering the season, the defense provided a lot of high expectations but has yet to show it this year. They are 2-4 but are in second place of the not-so-good NFC East division. They take on another difficult opponent in the Packers on Sunday. Aaron Rodgers once again displayed dominance as the Packers have won five straight games after losing badly in the opener. He put himself in the headlines by shouting that he still owns the Chicago Bears.

Why The Washington Football Team Could Cover The Spread
Washington will have a tough task Sunday. Over seven points in a spread is a lot, so this is quite possible to achieve. If Washington is to cover, then their defense will need to rise to the occasion. They will need to contain Rodgers and force him to make mistakes. On the offensive side, QB Taylor Heinicke is struggling. He has had his ups and downs this year but he will need to be on his game if they want to survive.
The roster is dealing with injuries to many positions so it will be a next-man-up mentality this week. Stars Antonio Gibson and Terry McLaurin are questionable for the game, but if they suit up then that boosts their chances tremendously. McLaurin is a mismatch on just about every corner in the league, if they can get him going then they will keep themselves in this one.
Why The Packers Could Cover The Spread
The Packers can cover the spread because they are a really good football team. Rodgers is on another level right now and he is going to continue to prove the doubters wrong. Since the poor Week 1 performance, the Packers haven't lost and don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Rodgers will need to stay aware of his surroundings against a tough WFT defensive line. Rodgers will still be without star left tackle David Bakhtiari and he is returning from an ACL injury but isn't expected to play. Rookie center Josh Myers is doubtful with an injury as well. The defensive line for the WFT is scary and can make plays against a favorable matchup like this one.
The Packers know what they need to do to win. The offense is playing well right now and their skill players are impossible to defend. Davante Adams and Aaron Jones are among the best offensive players in the league and should continue to play like it. The Packers are 5-1 against the spread this season.

I expect the Packers to get the job done once again on Sunday. The WFT defense will be on their game, but I expect the Packers' defense to shut down the WFT offense. Rodgers will find a way to reach the endzone again and Jones will be a nightmare to stop. I think the Packers will win this game by 10 or more points.
