With the NFL Trade Deadline quickly approaching, we have another blockbuster deal. The Pittsburgh Steelers have traded Pro Bowl linebacker Melvin Ingram to the Kansas City Chiefs for a 6th round pick. Via Ian Rapoport:

However, that draft pick is actually going to the Baltimore Ravens, via Albert Breer:

Ingram had publically made it known that he wanted out of Pittsburgh and it appears they fulfilled his wish. It's an interesting move to say the least however considering the Chiefs are an AFC rival of the Steelers. But, Kansas City desperately needs help on defense and will now be getting one of the better pass-rushers around.

Ingram has only started one game this season, with TJ Watt and Alex Highsmith being used instead. Can't blame him for wanting out and he'll likely get a lot more playing time with the former Super Bowl champions.

The 32-year-old played the first nine seasons of his career with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers before signing with the Steelers on a one-year deal in July. Needless to say, that stint didn't work out. As for the Chiefs, they're allowing 27.5 points per game in 2021, which is 25th in the NFL. KC desperately needs more consistency on the defense side of the ball and Ingram brings lots of experience to the table.
