The San Francisco 49ers are expected to be one of the more busier teams in free agency this upcoming offseason with a huge amount of salary cap space at their disposal.

With the recent signing of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to a five-year, $137.5 million extension, the team took to social media on Friday to make a public pitch as being an attractive free-agent destination.

The 49ers could quickly be in store for an interesting offseason with general manager John Lynch already voicing that the front office will be aggressive in pursuing players in the free agency period in the coming weeks. Lynch also stated that he plans on using Garoppolo as a major part of the pitch to available players on the open market. What should immediately help the team is the presence of the 26-year-old, who has quickly shown much promise that he can lead San Francisco to much success winning his first five starts to finish last season.

In his brief time with San Francisco, Garoppolo led the 49ers to wins in each of his first five starts while passing for 1,542 yards, the most by a quarterback in franchise history over that span. He also became the first 49ers quarterback since 1970 to win each of his first three road starts. What had also become quite clear during that stretch is that Garoppolo has earned full command of the offense while elevating the play of his teammates.

The fact that the 49ers potentially have their franchise quarterback in place should make them an intriguing landing spot. This along with the financial flexibility that the 49ers possess should allow them to be among the serious bidders for some of the top players in the market. Ultimately, only time will tell if San Francisco can truly be an appealing destination for free agents this upcoming offseason.
