Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury isn't going to take any shortcuts when it comes to superstar QB Kyler Murray's health. It's been the second straight week that the former Offensive ROTY hasn't suited up for the Cardinals after suffering an ankle injury earlier this month. And, without their main playmaker, Kingsbury's squad was looking a little lost out there against the visiting Carolina Panthers which was responsible for the Cardinals' second loss in three games.
Arizona's coaching staff did not want to risk having Murray out there without being 100%. And, add to that, Kingsbury would not want another loss force the entire team to sidetrack their QB's progress:
“We're going to be smart, make sure he's 100%, or close enough to where he can do his thing,” Kingsbury noted about possibly playing Murray in Week 12 against the Seattle Seahawks (via Josh Weinfuss of ESPN). “Like I've said, whatever % that is, he's got to be able to move and make plays and do what he does,”
Will Sunday’s loss influence Murray’s status for Sunday in Seattle? “We're going to be smart, make sure he's 100%, or close enough to where he can do his thing,” Kingsbury said. "Like I've said, whatever % that is, he's got to be able to move and make plays and do what he does."

Also without top receiver DeAndre Hopkins on Sunday night, the Cardinals simply couldn't keep up with the hungry Panthers who were with their returning QB in Cam Newton. Colt McCoy, who's been filling in for Kyler Murray at the QB spot, struggled early against the Panthers' defense with a fumble and a sack in the opening moments of the game. From there, the Panthers basically dictated the pace en route to the blowout win.
Despite the loss, the Cardinals still find themselves at the top of the NFC. Hopefully, the team can hold its own while they wait for their star QB to get back on the field.
