The Baltimore Ravens upgraded their safety position in a big way during the 2019 offseason. Veteran Eric Weddle was cut, somewhat surprisingly, and Earl Thomas III, a sixth-time Pro Bowler, came along to fill the void. The rest remained untouched, as Tony Jefferson starts on the strong-side. Youngsters Chuck Clark and Deshone Elliot continue to progress, and Anthony Levine figures to be a part of the defense. But they aren't done.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, via Twitter, the Ravens are giving free-agent safety Brynden Trawick a look. The 29-year-old Trawick has bounced around the NFL since being undrafted out of Troy in 2013. For the last two seasons, he played with the Tennessee Titans on a minimal role. In that span, he tallied eight total tackles, playing most of his snaps on special teams.

The Ravens are familiar with Trawick, as he signed on with them in 2013. He wound up playing three seasons in Baltimore, in a similar capacity to what he did in Nashville. His final stat line through his time in Baltimore is 31 total tackles, a start, and a pass deflection. He played 886 special teams snaps for the Ravens, then went to the Oakland Raiders. In 2017, as a Titan, Trawick earned a Pro-Bowl nod for his efforts as a special teamer.

If the Ravens do sign him, expect him to resume the same role as he previously played in Baltimore. The team isn't desperate for help at safety with two solidified starters. But, considering head coach John Harbaugh has a special teams background, he'd be a valuable addition.
