Earlier this offseason, the Baltimore Ravens signed Earl Thomas to replace Eric Weddle at free safety. Now, the Ravens are adding another safety to their roster in Brynden Trawick.

According to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, safety Brynden Trawick is signing with the club after having a workout with them. Adding Trawick provides depth at the safety position but most importantly, it gives Ravens a special-teams ace.

Trawick actually began his career with the Ravens in 2013 as an undrafted rookie out of Troy. He would spend three seasons in Baltimore before being released, starting in just one game for the Ravens.

After the Ravens, Trawick landed with the Oakland Raiders where he would haul in his first interception. Although, his tenure with the Raiders was short-lived and he was cut after the 2016 season.

Despite being cut, there was interest from teams to add Trawick to be a difference-maker on their roster. For the last couple of seasons, Trawick played for the Tennessee Titans and became a standout on special team.

As a matter of fact, Trawick made the Pro Bowl with Tennessee in 2017 as the AFC's special teams player. That's high praise for a special teams player considering that a guy like Matthew Slater is also in the AFC. Although, Slater played in the Super Bowl that season.

Now, with the Ravens, Trawick is trying to make the 53-man roster and possibly become a vital piece to their special teams. After all, teams need all three facets of their team to play at a high-level to make it to the Super Bowl.
