Developments continue to usher in on the Baltimore Ravens' training camp proceedings. Ravens free safety Earl Thomas and strong safety Chuck Clark recently got into a heated altercation near the end of the team's practice sessions. Thomas was then sent home to clear the air between the two and has yet to be back on the field since the incident.

NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero confirmed on Twitter that the Ravens advised Thomas to remain at home for the time being:

Contract talks were definitely included in the equation. The Baltimore Ravens were suspected to be buying time to assess their next move regarding Thomas' contract. The former Texas Longhorn is expected to have a fully-guaranteed deal priced at a $10 million tag in 2020.

Amidst the uncertainty, the Ravens can decide to fine or suspend Thomas for conduct detrimental to the team. A trade could also be in the works if the Ravens can find a trade partner, otherwise, the team can just decide to release him instead. Complications will eventually arise towards Thomas' fully-guaranteed deal in the event that the Ravens decide to charge him with a fine.

The 11-year veteran was a regular starter for the team last season, appearing in 15 games and recording 32 total tackles, 2.0 sacks, and 1 forced fumble. His numbers in the 2019 season were still a far cry compared to his production when he was with the Seattle Seahawks.

Thomas was a three-time first-team All-Pro, two-time second-team All-Pro, seven-time Pro Bowler, and a Super Bowl XLVIII champion. Despite the regression in his productivity, a player of his caliber is still expected to attract a number of suitors in the event that the Ravens decide to part ways with him.
