The general narrative surrounding the 2020 NFL Draft is that it is incredibly deep in terms of the talent pool at the wide receiver spot.

In fact, due in part to the weak group of available receivers in free agency, a number of front offices are leaning on the draft to add depth at wide receiver. The Baltimore Ravens are likely to be one of those teams.

One such need is at wide receiver, where Baltimore has historically been lacking elite talent. At the Ravens’ pre-draft press conference, general manager Eric DeCosta said he feels there are receivers on the roster ready to “make another jump.” However, he acknowledged the coaches and scouts have “found some guys they’re excited about” in the 2020 NFL Draft. In total, DeCosta said, “there’s probably 25 draftable wideouts in this draft.”

It seems DeCosta will zero in on receiver in on–if not both–of the first two rounds, particularly considering he made a number of moves to strengthen the defensive unit in free agency.

The Ravens took a pair of wideouts last year in Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and Miles Boykin, with Brown in particular showing off his potential as a big-play receiver.

However, Baltimore's offense often seemed to revolve around their rushing attack, placing more pressure on quarterback and reigning MVP Lamar Jackson to make plays with his legs.

The Ravens figure to add to their talent pool at receiver. They need more capable pass-catchers, especially after losing Hayden Hurst this spring.
