Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has been the man for many years but now that he has to take a backseat to Lamar Jackson, he admits that it's a bit of a different feeling.

“It’s different, but it’s a good team win, and it’s always exciting to be on the sideline like today,” Flacco said via the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Flacco suffered a hip injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers on November 4th which opened up the door for Jackson to claim the starting role. On Sunday Flacco was active for the first time since the injury, serving as the backup and was ready to go in if Jackson was injured or was pulled.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been in a situation like this,” he said. “I just prepared as normal, and if anything bad happened, then I had to be ready to go for my teammates and for myself. So I was ready to go at any point.”

Jackson was able to lead the Ravens to a 20-12 victory and is set to make another start on Saturday against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Ravens currently hold onto the 6th wild-card spot with an 8-6 record but there are also two other teams who sit with the same record.

The Ravens have the hardest remaining schedule of any of the three teams with that record so they are probably going to need to win out to keep that final spot, and to do that they need Jackson to have a big game and beat the Chargers.
