Over the weekend, newly-acquired Baltimore Ravens quarterback Robert Griffin revealed in his introductory press conference that he has recently been contacted by a couple of the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft's top quarterback candidates. What type of advice did the N0. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft have to share with these future NFL quarterbacks?
According to Ravens beat reporter Jamison Hensley of ESPN, Griffin said that these young guys really need to put a lot of effort into listening to their coaches.
“The advice I would give them, to keep it short and frank, is [if] they are able to play at a high level in college, they can do that in the pros,” Griffin said. “Right now, it’s all about what everybody is saying, and you can get caught up in that. Don’t get caught up in that. It’s about playing the game. Play it at a high level and listen to your coach. Know exactly who you are as a player and know that they’re there to make you better.”
Griffin, who signed with the Ravens this offseason after being out of football for the entire 2017-18 season, also added that the rookies need to avoid getting sucked in by all the draft hype.

You just want to make sure you don’t. It is important to feel a certain kind of way, but where you get drafted, where you go, is as important as the number behind your name. Hopefully, those guys get in a great organization that will take care of them.”
RGIII, who has seen a big decline in his play since his stellar rookie season with the Washington Redskins, has also dealt with a myriad of injuries through his six-year NFL career that have kept him off the football field.
In just 42 regular season games played since being drafted in 2012, Griffin has thrown for 8,983 yards on 63.3 percent completed passes, 42 touchdowns thrown, 26 interceptions, and 10 rushing scores.
