The Ravens have reached a decision on Robert Griffin III, and it looks like he's remaining in Baltimore for a little while.

According to Spun, Griffin was re-signed to a deal, although the terms have not yet been disclosed. He was already on board with the team for a one-year contract last season, and the former Baylor star seemed like a natural fit now that the Ravens sent Joe Flacco out to Denver.

The move of Flacco to the Broncos left an opening for the backup job behind Lamar Jackson, who took over for Flacco over the final seven games of the regular season. Griffin served as Jackson's mentor of sorts, which also helped endear him to Baltimore's brass and made the re-signing easy.

And that opening is what Robert Griffin III is, perhaps, a good match to fill.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh has previously sung the praises of the quarterback — praises that, surely, will now only be amplified now that he's been re-signed to the team.

“He's a very talented quarterback who's had a lot of success in this league early on. So we're excited about it. We felt like we needed a No. 2 quarterback. You look at the veteran quarterbacks out there … I mean, where we're at right now, I'm pretty excited about this player. I'm really feeling like we got a steal.”

Griffin had a solid preseason in Baltimore. The 28-year-old completed 65.9 percent of his attempts with two touchdowns, though he was also sacked seven times in four games.
