The Baltimore Ravens have had issues in their past drafting receivers in the first round, but Skip Bayless thinks that picking Marquise Brown was the right move. Bayless, who seemed to have a thought on every draft pick from Thursday night thinks that Brown is going to be a great player for the Ravens and will help Lamar Jackson, especially underneath.

Brown is a guy who has incredible speed but has some knocks for being a smaller receiver and sometimes has problems going up for balls. Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta has heard the concerns but thinks that when Brown and Jackson are on the field together, they are going to be electric.

“I think Lamar’s an excellent passer who’s going to get better and better,” DeCosta said via the Baltimore Sun. “We all talk about it, but he’s working his butt off, and he’s going to get better. All these young quarterbacks improve. And I think with Marquise, he’s going to be an asset to this offense.

“He and Lamar are going to be electric players when they’re on the field at the same time.”

DeCosta has made it clear he wants as many good players around Jackson as possible, and he thinks “Hollywood” fits that bill.

“I think chemistry, we want to put as many really good players around Lamar as we can on offense,” DeCosta said. “And [Brown] is one of those kind of guys that when you look at successful offenses throughout history, there’s a relationship between the receivers and the quarterback. This guy plays in an offense, not identical, but similar to some of the things we want to do. He understands the offense and he complements Lamar and our other receivers very well.”

This is going to be two players to follow the next few years but maybe they can grow up in the NFL together.
