Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson recorded his first career touchdown in Week 7. It seems acquiring a jersey from Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is next on his list of goals.

The Ravens are looking to get back into the win column. However, Jackson is hoping to get Newton's jersey after the game, via John Hewby of 247 Sports:

“That's pretty cool though. That's my guy. I used to watch him back at Auburn. That's my Heisman brother. I need his jersey after the game, so get this to him too. I need it. Man cave.”

Jackson's comments should come as no surprise. Newton became the benchmark for the prototypical NFL quarterback with his combination of rare athleticism and arm strength. This precedent undoubtedly helped Jackson become one of the more notable quarterbacks in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Much like Jackson, Newton was one of the most accomplished players in his draft. Both players set records at their respective schools while taking home the Heisman Trophy. However, they also received their fair share of criticism in the draft for their accuracy issues in college. Newton managed to overcome all the noise to win the NFL's MVP award and lead his team to a Super Bowl. His emergence set the precedent for dual-threat quarterbacks looking to make the transition to the league.

It is safe to assume that a win will be at the forefront of Jackson's mind this Sunday. However, expect to see the rookie flag Newton down afterward regardless of the outcome.
