Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller has become the second-fasted player to ever record 80 sacks in the history of the National Football League.

Tickle no one shocked and do not call them Nancy.

Von Miller has been an electric, elite pass rusher the moment he entered the league. The only shocking part about him getting the 80 sacks so fast is that it is a testament to him both being able to avoid injuries, as well as avoiding the pitfalls that come with every defense in the league planning against him.

For reference as to how special the achievement is, and as to how insane a talent the quickest to get there was, here are the quickest:

Fastest to reach 80 NFL career sacks

  1. Reggie White – 70* games
  2. Von Miller – 94 games
  3. DeMarcus Ware — 96 games
  4. Bruce Smith — 96 games
  5. Leslie O’Neal  — 99 games

*Including his first two pro seasons in USFL, White took 81 games to to reach 80 career sacks

There's no signs of Von Miller slowing down, either. Miller has recorded 7 sacks through six games this season. Unfortunately for the Broncos, the rest of Denver appears to stink.

Well, let me clarify that. The offensive side of the football — specifically, the quarterback position — appears to need some tinkering.

This has been the problem with Denver for years at this point. It fields a tremendous defense, has skill position players on offense all over the place, but insert a gunslinger who can barely hurl the football down the field without taking a sack or fumbling or tossing an interception.
