The Arizona Cardinals’ trip to London on Sunday isn’t one they’ll fondly remember. Not only because of iffy play, but due to the fact Carson Palmer left with a broken arm.
With a chance to win their first two games in a row this season, the Cardinals churned out a letdown performance in a 33-0 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. The Cardinals, however, more than just lost a chance to grab a share of the top spot in the NFC West. They also lost quarterback Carson Palmer for a long time due to a broken arm.
Carson exited the Rams game late in the first half and wasn’t able to return with what was first reported as a left arm injury. Following the contest, it was revealed by Adam Schefter of ESPN that the 37-year-old quarterback will miss up to eight weeks due to a broken left arm.

The Cardinals are currently 3-4 and have been playing inconsistently this season.
This injury to Palmer would not do them any favors. Losing Palmer means that Arizona will have to rely on either Drew Stanton or Blaine Gabbert as the team’s starting quarterback for weeks and ask more from a backfield led by Adrian Peterson, who can no longer be expected to create a difference on a weekly basis.
The Cardinals will have plenty of time to figure out how they’ll tackle their quarterback problem, thanks to a well-timed bye next week, but as far as their future beyond this season is concerned, Carson’s injury just made it even cloudier.
