The Chicago Bears have activated offensive lineman Kyle Long from the injured reserve list for the Bears' season finale against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, according to the team.
Long has been on injured reserve since early November with a foot injury, and, as a result, has played in just seven games this season.
The 30-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Oregon, was originally selected by Chicago in the first round (20th pick overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft.
He immediately started all 16 games at right guard for the Bears during his rookie campaign and was so impressive that he was elected to the Pro Bowl.
That kicked off a string of three consecutive trips to Honolulu for Long, who looked primed for a career littered with accomplishments. Long even proved so versatile that he switched to right tackle in 2015 and still made the Pro Bowl.

After signing a lucrative four-year contract extension in September 2016, Long went down with a torn labrum and ended up missing half of the season. Then, the following year, Long injured his shoulder again and also battled ankle and finger ailments throughout the year, limiting him to 10 games.
The Ivy, Va. native has not played a full season since 2015.
Chicago enters the weekend with a record of 11-4 and has a chance to nail down a first-round bye. The Bears will need to beat the Vikings and will also need the Los Angeles Rams to fall to the San Francisco 49ers in order to make that happen.
