Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is set to miss the team’s Thanksgiving matchup against the Detroit Lions on Thursday due to a shoulder injury. Backup Chase Daniel is set to make the start, just the third of his career.
But on the bright side for the Bears, Trubisky’s absence is only expected to be a one-week thing, and he will likely return for Week 13 against the New York Giants, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Although, Rapoport didn’t completely rule out the possibility of Trubisky running into some issues next week. If he does, it will likely be related to a lack of shoulder strength.
Trubisky is having a fine sophomore season for the Bears. He’s completing 65 percent of his passes for 2,469 yards with 20 touchdowns and nine interceptions to lead the Bears to an NFC North-leading 7-3 record on the back of four consecutive wins.

But still, they shouldn’t risk Trubisky if there are any doubts about his shoulder’s condition, especially given their upcoming games. After the Giants, the Bears next face back-to-back tough home games against the Rams and Packers.
The Bears will likely need Trubisky back healthy and at his very best in order to win those games and maintain control of the division.
