In the Chicago Bears Week 14 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football, a few things became painfully obvious to anyone watching the game. The first is that the Packers are simply on another level than the Bears are in terms of coaching. That also goes for the personnel, as Chicago had no answer for Davante Adams (who does?) and Aaron Rodgers (at least they tried.)

Chicago will need to get over those two big issues if they are going to break their streak of losses to their bitter rivals. The Packers have beaten the Bears six straight times with the last Chicago victory in the series coming back in 2018. They will have the whole off-season to figure that out, but for now, here are four takeaways from Sunday's Bears-Packers game from Chicago's perspective: one good, one bad, and one downright ugly.

Bears Week 14 Takeaways

3. They were able to sack Aaron Rodgers three times (good)

This one might not be very surprising to you if you watch a lot of Bears games. They are actually the seventh-best team in the NFL in terms of sacking the opponents' quarterback. Chicago has brought down the QB 2.6 times per game so far in 2021 and they were right on that mark with the three sacks of Rodgers on Sunday Night Football. The Bears were certainly happy to get back into the multiple sack column after getting only one in their last game against Arizona in Week 13. Next up is a Seattle team that is allowing the fourth-most sacks per game in the NFL.

2. Davante Adams was a man among boys (bad)

This one was not fair. The Bears have no one that can cover Adams in one-on-one situations and the fact that he has Rodgers throwing him the ball just makes things almost comical. Every time Adams has single coverage on him or the Bears are in a zone formation, the Packers have ways to get him the ball. Whether it is on a screen, on a slant, or on a more complex route that takes a little more time to develop, the Packers have you beat if you do not double cover Adams and/or fail to confuse Rodgers with the coverage. For the season, Adams already has 1204 yards and seven touchdowns in 12 games played.

1. The run defense was abysmal (ugly)

The Packers only needed to run the ball 20 times with their running backs to get to the 100-yard mark for the game and were ripping off one ten-yard run after the other. This is a big reason why the Bears are the ninth-worst team in the NFL in terms of stopping the run. They give up 120 yards per game on average on the ground and these chunk plays are the main culprit. The Seattle team that the Bears face next is not a very good running team so maybe that could be just what the doctor ordered to get this defense on the right path.
