The Cleveland Browns return home on Sunday night for a nationally televised bout with the Los Angeles Rams, and calling starting quarterback Baker Mayfield enthusiastic about the matchup would be an understatement.

Mayfield, the first-overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft, wrote a message for Browns fans on Twitter in all caps on Sunday afternoon, petitioning the local supporters to make the Los Angeles team “feel our passion.”

Mayfield and the Browns are coming off a smooth road win against the New York Jets at the Meadowlands on Monday Night Football in Week 2. The Jets, without their third overall pick from the same draft Sam Darnold, were easy marks for Mayfield and Cleveland, earning their first win of the season after the Week 1 30-point disaster against the Tennessee Titans. Odell Beckham Jr., the former New York Giant who played in the Jets and Giants' shared MetLife Stadium, put on a show for the area fans.

Now coming home again, Mayfield is hoping for a better performance from his team along with a passionate fan base making noise and “rocking” FirstEnergy Stadium for the national audience.

Mayfield thew 25/38 for 285 yards and one touchdown in the season-opening loss to the Titans, tossing three interceptions to the opposing team. Although the former Heisman Trophy–winning signal-caller from Oklahoma threw for fewer completions and a worse completion rate, the Browns cruised to a 20-point victory against the Jets last week.

With lofty goals on the shoulders of Mayfield and the Browns for 2019, Cleveland is looking for their second win in a row to get over .500, but they will have a tough time against the visiting Rams, 2-0, and defending NFC champions.
