The Cleveland Browns have waived wide receiver Ricardo Louis, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
With Odell Beckham Jr. now on board to play alongside of Jarvis Landry, the Browns did not have much use for Louis anymore.
Louis did not play in a single game this past season, missing the entire year due to a neck injury. He last appeared in 2017, playing in all 16 games and hauling in 27 receptions for 357 yards.
The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Auburn University, was originally selected by Cleveland in the fourth round (114th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.
He went on to appear in all 16 contests during his rookie year, catching 18 passes for 205 yards.
Thus far, his professional tenure has not gone much differently than this collegiate career, as we has not all that productive at Auburn. His best season with the Tigers came during his senior campaign, when he snared 46 balls for 716 yards and three touchdowns.

The Browns are coming off of a 2018 campaign in which they went 7-8-1, marking their best finish since winning 10 games all the way back in 2007. They have not made the playoffs since the 2002-03 season, representing the longest active postseason drought in the NFL.
However, given all of the moves Cleveland has made this offseason, it's looking like the Browns' dry spell will end sooner rather than later.
In addition to Beckham, the Browns have also added running back Kareem Hunt while bringing in linebacker Olivier Vernon and defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson.
