Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield looks like the real deal now, but one Hall of Fame running back wasn't sold on him in the beginning. Jim Brown is a Browns legend. He played all nine of his NFL seasons for the team and is considered to be one of the greatest running backs of all time. Brown ranks 11th on the NFL all-time rushing list and criticized the Browns after they selected Mayfield with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Since then, he's backtracked to correct his mistake.
“[The organization] went against the grain. They picked him because of their confidence in their ability to judge, probably character and the talent,”Brown told TMZ Sports. “They didn't go with what everybody said, including myself. They went with what they thought was correct and I really appreciate being able to say to them, ‘I guess you were right.' It's only been a couple of games but I know they were right. I give them my apology.”
Brown said “no comment” when he was first asked about his opinion on the addition Baker Mayfield. After just two games, he has turned heads all around the league. When Tyrod Taylor went down with a concussion in Week 3, Mayfield led the Browns back from a 14 point deficit to win the game.

Mayfield made some mistakes during his first start in Week 4, but he did help his team jump out to a two touchdown lead down the stretch against the Oakland Raiders. Even though they lost the game in overtime, he looked impressive.
Mayfield has completed 38 of 64 pass attempts for 496 yards and two touchdowns. He has emerged as the favorite to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award as well. The team's 1-2-1 record ranks them behind the Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North.
Getting a win against the Ravens in Week 5 would give the team a huge boost. The season is still young, so the Browns are still in the playoff hunt. They might not get there this year, but they're on the right path.
