The Cleveland Browns are starting to turn the corner following years of ineptitude, and Myles Garrett has helped lead their defense's success. The Browns defensive end is doing a lot of things well for Cleveland, and he wants to do it on a more consistent basis, per Nate Ulrich of Beacon Journal.
“I need some more highlight games, some games that you go back and you’re like, ‘He took over,’ ” Garrett said Friday. “The [season opener against the Pittsburgh] Steelers might have been one of them, but I need some more of those.”
That Steelers game Garrett mentioned occurred way back in Week 1, when the former No. 1 overall pick opened his second year in the league with a juggernaut of a performance, racking up two sacks, six tackles, and two quarterback hits, albeit in a 21-21 draw. Garrett was a bit silent in the following game in which he only had a sack and a quarterback hit to show in a 21-18 road loss to the New Orleans Saints.
All told, Myles Garrett has 5.0 sacks – fifth in the NFL – and 21 tackles over this season’s first five weeks.
The former Texas A&M Aggies star will have a chance to make another good impression on Cleveland fans on Sunday in a key showdown against the Philip Rivers and the visiting Los Angeles Chargers.
