Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield and Kansas City Chiefs signal-caller Patrick Mahomes have both taken the league by storm in their brief time as starters.
They've both gotten fans excited, and are here to stay for a very long time. With that in mind, Nick Wright of FS1 recently compared the two to the most famous rivalry in recent NFL history.
Wright declared recently on his show ‘First Things First' that the duo can be “this generation's Manning/Brady.”
“Two guys in the same conference who are the two best quarterbacks in football for a long time,” he explained. “Maybe that doesn't start this year with them being the two best quarterbacks in football, even though Mahomes was last season. I think that's what we're seeing here. I think with Baker and the Browns and Patty Mahomes and the Chiefs… I think that's what we're in store for over the next decade-plus.”
Wright also made the case for why the Browns might be even better set up for the future, even though Mahomes was the clear better passer last year. Speaking of Cleveland, he said:

If the skill position spots are close and the offensive line is close and if the quarterbacks are even kind of close… to me the Browns have more known quantities on defense. The Chiefs did upgrade getting Frank Clark, but they lost Justin Houston and Dee Ford. They did bring in Tyrann Mathieu, but that was the worst secondary in the NFL last year.”
Wright made a strong argument for Cleveland's unit:
“The Browns have studs at every level of the defense. They have a shutdown corner, they have two good safeties, and I think they are in the argument for the most imposing defensive line in football.”
No matter which team is better, watching Mayfield and Mahomes do battle in the AFC for years to come is going to be a treat for any football fan.
